1. Who We Are
Narrative Guides LLC operates a location-based audio storytelling platform that provides GPS-triggered audio tours, merchant promotions, and related travel experiences. This Privacy Policy applies to all users who access or use the Service through the Narrative Guides mobile application, website, or other related products.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in several ways depending on how you interact with the Service.
2.1 Information You Provide
Account Information: Email address, display name, and authentication credentials.
Payment Information: Collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or sensitive financial data on our servers.
Tour Content: If you create a Pioneer route, we collect the tour data you provide.
Imported Itineraries: JSON itinerary data from third-party AI tools, used solely to generate your tour.
Communications: Support and feedback messages.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service, certain information may be collected automatically by the application or associated systems.
Location Data: The Service collects GPS location data during active tour playback in order to trigger location-based narration and verify proximity to participating merchants. Location data is collected only when the Service is actively in use.
Device Information: Information about the device used to access the Service, including device type, OS, app version, and device identifiers.
Usage Data: Information about how the Service is used, including tour selections, playback events, feature interactions, session duration, and general usage analytics.
Speed Data: The Service may detect device speed for safety purposes related to Driver Mode. Speed data is processed on the device and is not transmitted to Narrative Guides servers.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive certain information from third-party service providers that support the operation of the Service.
Stripe: Payment confirmation, subscription status, payout information associated with transactions processed through Stripe.
Supabase Auth: Authentication tokens and related login credentials used to manage secure account access through email or one-time password authentication.
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1 Aggregated and De-Identified Data
We may generate aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information derived from personal information for analytics, research, and service improvement purposes. Such information does not identify individual users and may be retained and used indefinitely.
3.2 Analytics and Insight Disclaimer
Aggregated analytics, travel insights, and statistical outputs generated by the Service are intended solely for informational and service improvement purposes. These analytics are derived from automated systems and aggregated datasets and may contain estimation errors or statistical variation. Narrative Guides does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of analytics derived from anonymized usage data.
3.3 AI-Assisted Communications
Narrative Guides may use artificial intelligence tools to draft or assist in responding to customer inquiries, support requests, and other communications. While we strive to ensure accuracy and quality, certain responses may be generated or suggested by automated systems. For complex or sensitive matters, communications will be reviewed by a human team member.

4. Location Data Protections
4.1 Location Accuracy
Location data provided by your device may vary in accuracy depending on factors such as device hardware, operating system configuration, network connectivity, environmental conditions, and satellite availability. Narrative Guides does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of location data used by the Service.
4.2 Data Minimization and Anonymization
Narrative Guides takes measures to reduce the identifiability of location data used for analytics and service improvement. Where feasible, location data used for analytics is anonymized, aggregated, or otherwise processed to prevent identification of individual users.
4.3 Separation of Personal and Analytics Data
Where practicable, systems used to store account information are separated from systems used to process aggregated analytics in order to reduce the ability to associate analytics records with individual users. Real-time location data is not stored after the active tour session ends.
4.4 No Sale of Location Data
Narrative Guides does not sell precise location data or personal information to third parties.
4.5 Merchant Event Visibility
Participating merchants may receive anonymized event records indicating that a device was within proximity of a participating merchant location for the purpose of validating promotional events. These records do not include personal identifiers such as name, email address, or account credentials.
4.6 Aggregated Tourism and Analytics Data
Narrative Guides may generate aggregated, anonymized insights regarding tour usage patterns, travel corridors, and general visitor activity. These insights may be shared with tourism boards or partners for analytical or planning purposes and do not identify individual users.
4.7 Promotional Event Verification
Location signals generated by the Service may be used to determine whether a device was within proximity of a participating merchant for the purpose of validating promotional events or billing records. Narrative Guides does not guarantee the accuracy of proximity determinations and is not responsible for errors caused by device settings, signal interference, or environmental conditions.

Merchants and Partners do not receive your personal information.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with data transfer restrictions, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, and other lawful transfer mechanisms to ensure appropriate safeguards for your data.
6. Your Choices and Rights
6.1 Location Permissions
Location access can be managed or revoked through your device settings. Certain features of the Service require location access to function properly.
6.2 Device Permission Controls
You may manage or revoke application permissions, including location access, through your device settings. Disabling certain permissions may limit the functionality of the Service.
6.3 Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account by contacting privacy@narrativeguides.com or through available account settings within the Service. Requests are typically processed within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or financial obligations.

7. Data Retention

Raw GPS session data is deleted or anonymized within 90 days. Aggregated or de-identified analytics may be retained longer for service improvement purposes. Financial records may be retained for longer periods as required by tax or accounting laws.

8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information.
