이 투어의 정차 지점 (10)

  1. 1
Routeburn Shelter The Routeburn Track is one of New Zealand's ten Great Walks — a Great Walk pass must be booked in advance through DOC. The track runs 32 kilometres between the Routeburn and Greenstone valleys, crossing the Harris Saddle at 1,255 metres. Day 1 follows the Routeburn River through ancient beech forest. Carry rain gear — Fiordland weather is famously changeable. No mobile signal on the track.
  2. 2
Routeburn Gorge Bridge The track crosses the Routeburn River on a swing bridge above a deep gorge. The water below is clear and blue-green — coloured by glacial flour from the mountains above. The beech forest is ancient, with trees dating back centuries. Moss and lichen cover every surface.
  3. 3
Sugar Loaf Stream The track follows the river through red and silver beech forest. The understory is dense with ferns — crown fern, hen and chicken fern, and the iconic tree ferns that give New Zealand's forests their prehistoric character.
  4. 4
Routeburn Flats The valley opens into broad, grassy flats beside the river. The Routeburn Flats Hut sits in a clearing — a popular first-night stop. The surrounding peaks are often cloud-capped; when clear, they reveal hanging valleys and waterfalls tumbling from hidden cirques.
  5. 5
Routeburn Flats Hut A modern DOC hut with gas cookers, running water, and a wood stove. The hut warden provides weather forecasts and track conditions. Kea — alpine parrots — frequent the hut, fascinated by anything brightly coloured or potentially edible. Secure your belongings.
  6. 6
Routeburn Falls Climb The track steepens dramatically above the flats, climbing through cascading waterfalls. The Routeburn Falls tumble over granite ledges — the sound is constant and enveloping. The forest transitions from lowland to montane species as elevation increases.
  7. 7
Routeburn Falls Hut The second hut perches at the bush line with spectacular views down the valley. This is one of the most photographed hut locations in New Zealand. The evening light on the surrounding peaks is extraordinary — golden granite and green forest against darkening sky.
  8. 8
Alpine Meadow Above Falls Above the hut, the forest gives way to alpine meadow. Mountain daisies, buttercups, and native gentian colour the tussock. The transformation from dense forest to open alpine is dramatic and occurs within metres. Practice Leave No Trace — alpine vegetation recovers slowly from trampling.
  9. 9
Lake Harris Viewpoint Looking ahead, Lake Harris gleams in its glacial basin below the Harris Saddle. The lake is encircled by scree slopes and tussock — a classic cirque tarn. Tomorrow's route climbs past the lake and over the saddle into the Hollyford Valley — but today's walk through the Routeburn Valley has been magnificent.
  10. 10
Evening Valley View From the hut deck, the Routeburn Valley stretches southward — a corridor of green forest and silver river framed by granite peaks. The long twilight of a New Zealand summer evening paints the mountains in soft pastels. The silence, broken only by birdsong and the distant falls, is the essence of these Great Walks.
